We are:
- An autonomous self-funding, self-help Charity
- Part of the community and open to everyone, you do not have to have MS to join the classes, use the shop, buy books and enjoy the Centre
We are an autonomous, self funding, self help Therapy Centre focused on offering people a chance to benefit from a unique blend of non-intrusive, holistic, complementary therapies and practical mutual support mainly for people with MS and other neurological conditions, their families and carers. We are regulated by Healthcare Commission. We were established in 1985 and operated from an industrial unit until enough cash was raised to buy land and create the purpose built Centre here at Catcliffe, we moved here in 2002. We currently have over 140 members and are always open to more.
Our aim is to help people help themselves, especially in keeping as safe and mobile as possible within the confines of their condition. The therapies we offer including HDOT (high dosage oxygen therapy), physiotherapy, osteopathy, shiatsu, massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, nutritional information, other alternative and beauty therapies and counselling We also host a weekly course on information technology and have a great supply of biscuits, teas, coffees, cakes, good company, more than a few laughs and always a warm welcome
It costs us over £84,000 a year just to keep the Centre running and, as we receive no government funding, this is raised through donations, grants and a multitude of fundraising initiatives. Having just one full time and two part time members of staff, our members, volunteers and friends are invaluable.
Come and visit us – you will be amazed
